Ruth has been dancing ballet for 31 years. She began her training in the Cecchetti Method and completed her Advanced Teacher's Exam in 1995. She has been teaching ballet at Laurie-Ann's for the past 16 years.  Ruth continues to take classes in Ballet, Highland and Canadian Step dancing. Also, she regularly performs with the U.W.O. Modern Dance Company. Ruth is looking forward to teaching Ballet classes at Laurie-Ann's this season.

Honours B.A., B. Ed.; Member B.A.T.D. (Stage, Jazz Branches)

SARAH  has been involved with dance for the past 34 years. Versed in all disciplines, she is a full member of the B.A.T.D. with the Stage and Jazz Branches. Sarah is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario where she received her Bachelor of Education and also studied modern dance, jazz,  improvisation and choreography.   Since 1993, Sarah has taught and choreographed for Laurie-Ann’s School of Dance Inc.  Working with students of all ages, she enjoys teaching lyrical, jazz, and ballet but tap dancing remains her passion; Sarah has won numerous choreography awards and her students have received scholarships and many overall titles across Southwestern Ontario and internationally.   Most recently, Sarah attended "Tapfest" at Wayne State University with a group of enthusiastic dancers who studied with some legendary tap masters and performed in the participants' showcase.  To like-minded individuals - live and breathe dance

Member B.A.T.D. Free Style, Associate Member B.A.T.D. Stage

Beth Ann has danced at Laurie-Ann's School of Dance since she was five years old. Throughout Beth Ann's dance career she has taken Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Pilates, Celtic and Hip Hop. Beth Ann has also been part of the competitive dance team for the past 12 years. Dance has given her many traveling opportunities. Beth Ann has travelled to different workshops throughout North America, danced at Disneyland in California and most recently competed and trained in Las Vegas at Tremaine. In 2006 Beth Ann travelled to Reisa Germany as part of the Canadian National Tap Team, winning 1st place and brining  home the GOLD! We are proud of her. This year she joins our team of Instructors teaching, DRC I & II, Adult classes and Hip Hop.

Miss Alex joins our team after training with L.A.S.D. for a number of years. She has a broad background in dance covering many areas including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, and hip-hop. Alex also is a student member of the B.A.T.D. & R.A.D.  She competed for numerous years as a member of the L.A.S.D. Performance Troupe. Alex is thrilled to be able to share her love of dance with all of the dancers at Laurie-Ann’s School of Dance!

Sheryl is a level one gymnastics coach (NCCP).  Since 2001 she has been teaching acro at the dance studio in her hometown, teaching students of all ages from three years old to teens.  In her teen years she competed in gymnastics and trained at the St. Thomas Gymnastics Club.  During her competition years she was able to attend the provincial level competitions of OFSAA.  Sheryl is a mother of two teenagers, and has always enjoyed working with children in all of her various jobs, but teaching acro is her favorite.  Sheryl  graduated from Toronto School of Homeopathic Medicine in 2009, and is now Owner and Homeopathic Physician of, Homeopathic Walk In Clinic, located in Aylmer, ON.  Sheryl is very proud to be apart of Laurie Ann's School of Dance and looks forward to teaching acro to all her present and future students.  She is always enthusiastic in helping them achieve their potential with her motto, "if you think you can, YOU CAN!"

John had been with Laurie-Ann's School of Dance for 6 years.  He began volunteering at the Studio and then caught the dance bug.  He now calls Laurie-Ann's School of Dance his second home.  John has demonstrated an interest in Tap and began studying it 4 years ago.  John completed his first Tap exam with the B.A.T.D. and received a Highly Commended Award and Certificate.  You can usually find John at the front desk throughout the week.
